Academic Support Program Registration Form (PDF)
Our tutors provide one-to-one academic support to elementary and secondary school students up to and including Grade 12 who require individual assistance with their school work. Our tutors are experienced individuals who are sensitive toward the needs of those students experiencing learning difficulties. While the program is specifically designed for the needs of students with identified or demonstrated learning disabilities and/or ADD/ADHD, the program is available to all students.
Our tutors are available to discuss the needs of your child prior to the start of the tutoring sessions. We will assign a tutor best qualified to meet the needs of your child based on the information you send as part of the application process. The tutor will be in touch with your to discuss your needs, respond to any questions you might have and set up a schedule for tutoring sessions. Sessions are available evenings and weekends during the school year. Specific dates and times will be determined by both parent and tutor.
Academic support and assistance is delivered at our facility inside the Bramalea Civic Centre. We have additional educational material on hand in order to better help your child. There is also a computer lab available in the office equipped with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs, and internet access in case a student needs to complete school work using these tools.
The primary goal of the tutor will be to support and assist the student with his or her assigned school work. Your child is expected to come to each tutoring appointment prepared and with all the necessary materials. However, the tutor may, from time to time, use resources on site as supplemental teaching tools.
