Christine Hambly, President

Christine is a Certified General Accountant and became a member of the association in 2006 to give back to the community by offering her accounting training to a non-profit organization. Christine, her husband and three children have been residents of Brampton for eleven years. She is employed by Newmar Window Manufacturing Inc. as Assistant Controller, and she also volunteers as Vice-Chair of the CGA Peel Professional Development Committee. She believes in the Mission Statement and is committed to the association and its members.

Carol Ogilvie, Vice-President

Carol Ogilvie has been an active member of the LDANP since September 2008 and her involvement on the LDANP board as a SEAC Representative has been since September 2009.

Ms. Ogilvie’s son has ADHD, learning disabilities and Dyslexia in which she is using medicinal and alternative methods in alleviating the symptoms of ADHD. She is also working with a tight night support group to ensure that her son is receiving the help necessary for his education and to be able to be a positive contributor in the future.

She has over 18+ years work experience in the information technology field/project management and is  currently working for the City of Brampton, Brampton Transit as a Project Leader – ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) which includes SmartBus technologies.

Ms. Ogilvie holds degrees in Advanced Master’s Certificate in Project Management, Bachelor of Education (including maintaining the Ontario Teacher’s Certificate), and BA Honours Music. She is currently pursuing a certification in ITS and Project Management Professional designation and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Management.

Alice Rabadi, Secretary

Alice Rabadi graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Economics and Environmental Management in 1994.  She is employed by the Region of Peel, Peel Living, in the finance department.  Alice has recently moved to Brampton but has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Learning Disabilities Association of North Peel (LDANP) since 1998.  She has a strong interest in learning disabilities and enjoys being involved with the community.

Cristine Pergotski, Director

Cristine is a Psychoeducational Consultant with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, with over 10 years experience in working with children, parents and school staff in the areas of learning disabilities and ADHD. Cristine works in 5 Brampton schools to deliver services to families and school staff including assessment, consultation, and education about student’s strengths and needs related to their learning profiles. Cristine often recommends families to the LDAO as a valuable resource since understanding learning disabilities is an extensive learning process and requires life-long accommodations and supports. Cristine is a strong advocate for access to assistive technology to address reading and writing challenges.

More recently, Cristine’s 11-year old daughter was diagnosed with a learning disability. Advocating on behalf of her daughter for appropriate accommodations to meet her learning needs has helped her better understand the value of LDANP. Cristine has an interest to expand her experience to share her knowledge of learning disabilities and ADHD in the community.
